Default How to model in irregular matrix

I am thinking about building a matrix around my front door (pictured below). How would I model this in xlights? Would it just be 6 individual rectangular matrices? Or one big one with holes in it somehow? Some combination? Or other?

You could do 3 matrixes in a group or a custom model. I suspect a custom model would be more likely to give you the results you expect

A group of 6 is not such a bad option and 3 matrices would also do well. However, if you could make it a big one, this would appear more effective than the previous options.

Custom model would be best. Using a group does not guarantee a perfect layout of pixels because the group is created by sampling the pixels in layout. When you create a group things like the grid size and placement of the models can change how an effect will render. Its better you just draw it out in a custom model so that you get an exact model layout.

    Custom model makes sense. Thanks!
