    As for full-wave conversion - here's a couple full-wave bridges from Tayda.

    Round bridge 1000V - 1.5Amp

    DIP Bridge - 4-V - 1Amp

    I've used the round ones (but don't like that the lines "cross"). They just need some heat-shrink tubing on the leads and covered with some dual-walled tubing around them.

    I'm planning to try some of the DIP versions - likely on a small piece of perf board.

    Either one at about 5 per $1 is fairly easy to use.

    Here's what it looks like in a simple adapter plug:

    Thanks for the suggestion Jim. I am going to order a few of the DIP version and play with those.
    Making it bright since 1989...
