    Default Matrix-in-a-box

This weekend I completed my Raspberry Pi Zero W powered 64x32 Matrix-in-a-box for this year's Halloween display. It's mainly for the FM station information and providing 4 5v power pigtails for some additional leds in the front yard.

Did the Pi Matrix adapter fit right on top of the Pi Zero?

I soldered on the headers to the Pi, then they fit together great. Used a few nylon offsets to make sure it wouldn't move, but that's overkill

Wow, that's really cool. I like that you can tell the crowd the number of songs and which one your on.

Very neat project, thanks for sharing! I would love to re produce this someday for my house.

While it's not a build video, there is a section about the sign box in my behind the scenes video about 1:30 in

First, I need to tell you something. Usually I have to speed up videos to watch them without falling victim to slow speech and the associated nap time on this end. Your's is the very first one, in a lot of years, that I actually had to SLOW DOWN the speed to see and hear everything. I am not kidding, the very first one!

Second, the setup is great. Don't be surprised if you come to my area in November and see those eyes looking down at you. Nice.

Thank you for taking the time to do the walk-through. I enjoyed it.

This made me laugh I always knew I talked fast. I scripted out what I wanted to say so that I would cover it all since I wanted to keep it fairly short. Maybe I got a bit aggressive

Glad you like the eyes. I hoping to do more with them this year, but still have a lot to figure out to integrate them with the show.

DaleP: I added the song number and total to the display so folks watching could determine where they are at and gives some idea of how long the show is. I'd love to see more shows have this. We drove around this year to see quite a few and it's tricky to know how long the show is....especially with a 3 and 8 year old
