Sigh. OK, there's no good way to say this so I'll just blurt it out: I connected reversed 5V power to an ESPixelStick (connected to 200 5V WS811 square pixels). A whiff of magic smoke ensued. It was a 5V 10A power supply, so plenty of power to fry anything that wanted to leave this earth...

Is it likely that anything can be salvaged from the controller? What should I check/replace? (Electrolytic caps & ESP-01?)

As soon as I get another controller going, I will test the pixels. What is the likely result? All dead, all flaky/intermittant, just the first couple dead...?

Sorry to see this happen . You can test your esp and pixels easy enough without the need of the pixelstick board .
Some male/female jumpers suffice
A simple addition of a schottky diode could prevent this in your future .

Done it myself luckily my lights survived controller did not

Anyone know if the ESPixelStick Pops will have reverse compatibility (or a way to retrofit) for the new v.3 that includes a SD card to store FSEQ files so the only thing over Wi-Fi is timings?
