Well, I got the chip programmed but everything stops there. I tried the "RenPX1Setup" application and it won't let me write because it needs a com port. I tried following "Configuring the Settings via a Renard Data Stream" but it doesn't make any sense to me. I'm guessing when the instructions were wrote up that an older version of Vixen was used because there's no options for selecting start address and channel especially when making a sequence. The setup I have is a Sandevices 6804 with output #1 set for Renard. I also tried setting up the 6804 as pixels and still no luck. Off the 6804 it's going to a 8 channel Renard and then the PX1 is daisy chained off that. The 8 channel Renard works perfectly. I even tried to disconnect the 8 channel Renard and go straight to the PX1 but nothing. All the lights on the PX1 are on except D3 (Attn). D3 will come on when Jumper J4 is installed.

Follow the standard setup information for the PX-1 as shown in the Wiki is about the best help I can give you with the PX-1. It uses the standard Renard data stream (not a pixel stream) so it shouldn't be too hard.

This thread seems to be mainly about the construction of the monopixel canes. I have 12 of them built and Im trying to figure out how to sequence them in xlights. I havent tried Vixen yet to see if it has a way to individually control each LED.

The canes are built with the boards off of DIGWDFs store, 3 boards in each cane, 6 2811 chips, 18 white leds. Is there a way the use a model in xlights or vixen that will work to control each led separately?

I'm not sure about what model might work best, but consider that each WS2811 chip controls 3 different LEDs. If you have 3 monopixel boards/cane, you have 18 LEDs in each cane, which equates to 6 pixels. Twelve canes is equivalent to a string of 72 pixels if the canes are daisy-chained to one another.

The first cane is pixels 1-6; the second cane is pixels 7-12, etc.

In channel count parlance, the WS2811 chips are organized into RGB order where the first "R" would be channel 1, the first "G" is channel 2 and the first "B" is channel 3. So the first cane takes up channels 1-18, the second cane uses channels 19-36, and so forth.

I did a custom model and told xlights it was a single color red. Here is my layout/model/settingscandy-cane-xlightsmodel.JPG
I'm using the WS2803 chip but xlights doesn't care.
