Gauging Interest - KC Area Mini
Once upon a time, in a land far away, there were bi-annual meetings for decorators in the KC area. After some discussion, I have decided to try and revive this. I visited with the Omaha decorators group last year, and had a fun time, getting to put faces with names for Rob Baldwin, Doug Phillips, and David Lovely, and meeting others in the Omaha area. At that point, I had the thought that I should do this in KC, and now I've had some nudging in this general direction from a couple members, particularly Terry Honn in Wichita, so here we go:
-I would like to get an idea of how many people would be interested in a KC area mini, to be held at my house. Tentative date possibilities are:
-June 17th or 24th
-We would be looking at a one day mini, starting fairly early, and ending early enough to give folks time to get home if they've driven in from Wichita or Topeka, etc. We will work out logistics for meals as we progress, but expect a lunch at the house, and possibly a group dinner out to close the event.
-We would like those attending to be willing to speak to something they have made / seen / done in some fashion, just to help share the wealth among the group. There will be group discussion, as well, likely on a myriad of topics.
-Mini will be open to all decorators, whether LOR, Renard or other DIY, Falcon or other pixel base, or whatever. The more variety, the better.
At this time, please respond if interested, and indicate date preferences. If you have an area you would like to speak on, please indicate that, as well. Doesn't need to be rocket science. Simple adaptations of existing technology, basic show and tell, presenting videos of your display are all acceptable. I will update and give more specifics after interest levels are gauged.
