Has anyone though about making a 1970s disco fever dance floor? Some friends had a party recently with a 70's theme. Didn't get around to making the dance floor.

That would be one use of the Olsen/Grinch/Renard and SSR's I suppose lol.
Its been done by some kids at MIT, using USB controllers and tri color LEDs. Search MIT LED disco floor. Kits sold by Dropout Design. AI
Hi and Merry Christmas to everyone.
I am new to the board and had to laugh when I saw this post. I designed and bulit sound sysstems back in the late 70s and early 80s, and yes I have built those dance floors. ( Soap Factory in palisades n.j.). I am already gearing up for next year and I hope I can contibute to this board and also build a good display for next year. Got my alegro chipps thru my sound company for free and I'm building grinch and 16 ssrs. I can already see I'm going to need another one. Hope my wife understands. (love you honey) I love Christmas!!!

Thanks AI,
I just found that fourm. I already got the technical end down. That useally comes pretty easy for me. Now it's the plan. I need to learn the software and build all the boards. I've already built 14 minni trees for this year. My wife loves them. I want to do a nice megatree sort of like wayne's. 12' . I have a plan in my head so I got to put it down on paper and start building. We'll see what happens.

Some college students designed and built one, they ended up starting a company and selling it.Originally Posted by stempile
