When I passed 60 I promised myself I would never count years again. Not quite sure how many have passed since then.

I can say that this hobby/passion is keeping me younger than I thought I would be at this time.

I'm 51 and my first computer controlled show was the 4th of July, 2006, so 11 years. But have been doing static display since I bought my house 25 years ago.

Keeps me out of trouble, except when a package arrives and I hear "what did you order now??"

I'm totally in the minority haha... I turn 19 this Friday.

I guess I should have a huge display by the time I'm in my 30's!

Turned out to be a great thread, lots of differences, experiences, etc. All one thing in common, the hobby that brings smiles to others faces. Thanks everyone.

I'll be 67 in April. Only been into lights heavily since last year. Learned Vixen, thanks to the awesome help from people here, assembled lots of Wayne's Renards, numerous 6804's and a few of 682's, sequenced 5 songs, believe me, I was really scared I couldn't figure it out, but I found it fun and easy to learn. The best part is walking outside and watching everything come together saying to myself "I did this". And to see how the people react when they watch it. It feels good, really good.

Zaker, are we married to the same woman?

I'm 57 this will be my 5th year buying and building equipment and my 4th display. I got involved in refurbishing a house last fall and did not have time to set up the display.

With my vote today there's a full 1/3 of us (out of 119) that are in the 51-60 range?? Holy crap...maybe we should all have a meet-and-shoo-those-damn-youngsters-off-our-lawn??

You're doing it all wrong! I work at home and my wife is out taking care of her parents. So I can snatch most deliveries BEFORE she can even see them. I then just have to contain myself after I open them so she won't get suspicious! She does our bookkeeping/checkbook balancing, so she always finds out about them...later. Hopefully after I finish building whatever it is so I can SHOW her how good it looks.

I would not advise this for large purchases...
