I've not updated to FPP 1.10 yet, but will give it a try in the next few days.

Iím planning my first proper display and want to use a teensy as well as an arduino with ssrís
Iíve been looking in ray wuís shop at pixels and am confused. He has strings of 50 ranging from $5.50 up and I canít work out the difference between them. Anyon3 with any insight? Also any way to get the postage to the uk less 😀

Hi BigMilez. You should ask a question like this is in a new thread. Glomming onto a old thread that is 60 posts long and off topic is not a good idea.

Have you joined AusChristmasLights? You should and read their 101 manual. Very good information to get your knowledge base up.

If you posted a link to a specific string, we could better explain. $5.50 a string sounds like it is probably a dumb string. And with Ray, it is always best to contact him for a "quote" as he can figure out the exact postage required instead of using the generic calculator on the shopping site.

Start a new thread with your question probably in the topic "Hardware-Pixels and Pixel Controllers".

Been awhile since I have posted in this thread. I didn't get much time to work on the LEDs last year with the Teensy. I had things working back in 2017. So what I seem to be running into now is I am trying to add the total number of outputs in Vixen but when I do that is doesn't display anything. So I have the Arduino sketch set for 283 LEDs per string. So using that * 3 * 8 I have a total of 6792 total outputs. I am only using 2 strings (283 on the first, and around 270 on the 2nd) If I put that number into my Generic Serial controller the LEDs go dark. If I put in Say 3000 outputs I get most of the LEDs to display. If I use just the exact number of outputs I need for 2 strings (1698) the colors don't display properly and some of the LEDs are randomly our of order. I.E. LED 1 is on the 2nd trying position 15 or so.

I have used a test program on the teensy that at least tested string 1 and that seems to work fine and that is how I got the count of 283 LEDs on that string.

Any thoughts on what to try? Shadowlight, I am using your latest Arduino code from your github page as well.

    Thanks!

Well that was a bone headed move. My issue was I was using the wrong ethernet port on the Octo. Switched to the right one, adjusted Outputs and everything is working much better now. Sigh.
