    Default Com Port denied issue

I am setting up a new show or that is trying to this season.

The problem is in the show program. When the first sequence finishes, the show shuts down (Renard Dimmer (modified): (Router - startup) Access to the Port 6 is denied.
If I remove all sequences except one, the show will repeat that sequence. But if I add another sequence, it shuts down every time.
The show ran with 5 sequences before, now it will only do one. AAARRRGH! <<<Yeah, that means I'm frustrated, but I gotta keep a positive attitude some how.
Maybe I should drop this for now and go get my MV ready for the veterans day parade.

I know that at one time this sort of thing was an issue and was solved (for the most part) by making sure that you had an 'OFF' command as the last command in every sequence or it would not release the Com Port for the next song.

I solved this a while back by using a wiznet Ethernet to serial converter. I've got a couple dual port ones if you're interested in going that route.

That problem happens often if you are attempting to use multiple USB adaptors, I use only one Prolific, and one FTDI without issue, along with 5 serial ports to drive the Ren's and wireless. Add just one extra USB - RS485 adaptor and problems, it apparently is due to sloppily written driver software.

Make sure "Seconds of crossfade" is set to 0.

If you're using Vixen 2.1 it's possible to "double-load" it, and then there's an extra instance of Vixen running in the background that causes the conflict. Close Vixen. Then check the Windows Task Manager to see if a Vixen process is still running. If so, kill it. Then start Vixen again and you should be okay.
