Default "Poor Mans" $3 Sharkbite Light Arch Base How To

So I have made a “poor mans” version to make a light arch base that I will share with you. Materials are less than $3 bucks and takes a small bit of modifications. These definitely don’t look as good as the bases sold by lightsonmontague at http://doityourselfchristmas.com/forums/showthread.php?42850-Sharkbite-arch or livinglightshows at http://doityourselfchristmas.com/forums/showthread.php?42362-HDPE-Arch-Kits&highlight=livinglightshows, but you get what you pay for!

    BOM For 1” sharkbite
    2 – ¾” PVC ‘T’ connectors
    2 – ¾” PVC elbows
    1 – ¾” PVC schedule 40 tubing
¾” stainless self-tapping screws or equivalent
You can replace the two elbows for ‘T’ connectors if you would like to daisy chain your arches.

    Directions
1” sharkbite is 1/16” of an inch too large to fit into the ¾” fitting. You will need to take a dremel to open up the hole in the ‘T’ fitting so the sharkbite will fit snug but not overly tight or loose.
I cut two 3” long pieces of the pvc to connect to the ‘T’ fitting holding the sharkbite to the elbow.
The spreader cut to desired length for your arch.
Use self-tapping screws to secure the spreader bar to the elbow. You could solvent weld the spreader to the fitting, I just wanted my easy to dissemble.

Cheap, easily accessible, and easy to replace parts if anything gets broken, looks good to me. I made my bases last year for my hdpe arches out of pvc fittings. No need to have to spend alot of money just on the bases

Hi, looks great. Did you consider a second run along the ground (6 more 'T' connectors) I recon it would be pretty much bomb proof then.

I did consider a second row of 'T' connectors, but $6 is big money!!! . My plan is to run the power/signal lines through the side without the connectors as you can see on the outer arch. A '+' fitting would give you that overkill plus allow for wires.

Actually if you moved the small arch forward like 2ft the the middle a foot. It would add even more to it. 3D almost.
Just an idea. They did come out fantastic

I might give that a shot, would be an easy mod to make with my setup. Curious if the depth perception will be noticeable. I have 4 of them built up. Just need my pre-sale pixels to arrive...

Well I'd hate for you to change them all. But my thinking was even at a slight angle it would add depth
