Remember, FPP is a player not a sequencer. You still need a sequencer to create the content. The video you posted is Matt Johnson's show. He uses vixen to create the sequence.

This effect is a way to import a video file to be used on a matrix type element. The file is imported and transcoded to fit the elements of the group you apply it to. It works best for shorter clips to put an animation or similar onto a matrix. It's not made to put a full length video in i a sequence or to drive a video display.

It's an effect. You put the effect on the timeline like any other effect. Then in the effect editor pane, you choose the video file to use for the effect.

Not currently. Vixen doesn't currently support video type outputs. Only lighting type outputs. We may support video type options in the future. That's something we're experimenting with currently.

Also, I suspect it's just the wrong choice of words, but I wanted to clarify that you don't upload anything to Vixen. Vixen is a local application, not a remote service. You can import (load) a video file into an effect. But upload is not the word for that. Upload only applies when you're pushing a file to a remote machine.

Can you explain your use case. I'd like to hear what your ideas and plans are so we can keep that in mind as we're working on video support.
