I was a little above 5'. I used 3 guy wires at each level and a antenna clamp to go around the pipe. I was concerned about drilling any holes into the pipe that could weaken it.

I use 4" PVC 10' long, then bought a reducer to 2" to get the 12'. I made a collar to slide inside the 4" and over the 2" to make it stable. Two sets of guy wires, and it is solid! I can post more pics if you like the concept.

Hey Wayne, looks great. Do you have any pics showing how you connected the guy wires at the top?

I used a piece of .090 sheetmetal with a 2" hole dirlled in the center and three 3/8" holes 120* from each other. The corners were bent down to match the angle of the guy wires. It slides over the topper and then when the topper is fitted inside the 2" pvc, it is locked in place. The center guys are held in place with three brackets, (I think they were mirror hangers) and a hose clamp. I use the 12" lawn spikes (the GIANT nails) to secure it all to the ground with turnbuckels for easy adjustment.

Ahhh, now that gave me some trouble....
I made the posts first, I forget what size tubing it was, but I do remember is was "drinking water" tubing and fittings I used. It is a bit more expensive than regular PVC but the T's fit the electrical conduit perfectly for a snug fit. I cut the T's to make them slip fit over the conduit. I then drove 5/8" rod into the ground and slid the 'posts' over the rods. Once I got the ring level, I drilled through the bottom of the T through the 5/8 rod, then stuck a short piece of a metal coat hanger through the hole, like a cotter pin. This held the ring down to the ground height I set it at and makes for easy disassembly.
