Default Control an external pic for on/of switching with renard etc dimming levels.

Is there a way to use the different dimming levels from a renard to control another pic to give you a number of off/on channels instead of using extra channels on the renard.

example to have say 8 RGB LED's connected to a controller in series with each color pin connected to the first 3 channels to give you color control and dimming then use the 4th channel for controling a simple pic setup to swith each led on/off to sequence.

I am just interested to find out if this is possible as with the many levels of dimming you could build another type type setup fed from only 4 channels from the renard and 1 cat5 to then control multipul RGB LED's.

The answer to the first question is no. The Renard software doesn’t work that way.

I’m not sure what your proposed application is. The best I can tell is that you want to use two PIC micros with special code in them to control 8 LED’s., which you can do now with two PIC micros with current code.

Can you draw a schematic of what you’re thinking? You can even draw it in Paint if that’s all that you have.
