My scheduler would often hang and vixen will crash at seemingly random times, forcing me to end process the program and restart. But I think I may have found the issue. I turned off my computer's power saving options. I unchecked the "Turn off monitor" item and "Turn off hard disk" item in my Power Option settings today and it hasn't crashed once. It may be just luck so I'll keep an eye out for it in the next few days and see if this is really the issue.

You will need to replace Shows.dll and SuperScheduler.dll in the Modules -> App directory in the Vixen install. You can back the originals up in case you need to go back, but they need to be removed from the directory.

These are x64 versions. Let me know if you use the 32 bit for some reason.

Jeff, I went to swap these out today but saw they are 64 bit, my show computer is 32 bit. Can you hook me up with that version? It seems like the problem is getting worse as my show has begun to hang on multiple songs now and not just on the first run through but randomly throught the night. UGH! I have a radio set up in the livingroom and we play the show in the background to make sure it is still running. I'd apprecitate any help you can give.

Unfortunately not a good report. Loaded it up tonight and at first seemed great. No hang on the first go through the set. But after about an hour Vixen crashed and froze. I restarted and it ran for another 45 minutes then hung in a random place. Then restated but again about an hour and a half later it froze...then again after another hour.

People were texting us asking why the lights weren't running...we were listening to the radio but missed the shutdowns when we were watching a movie. Ugh!

So I gave up and reverted back to the old dll files. Pretty rough night. Is there an alternate way to run the show?. I don't have a raspberry pi so I can't run the falcon pi player, right?

    xLights

Set up xLights to match your controller configuration.
Export the sequences to Vixen 2.1 format. note that the xLights rules may not be as flexible as the vixen display setup, so you may need to reorder your controllers for the export to make sure the channel order lines up.
Import the exported sequences into xLights.
Setup the schedule and play it.

You can of course use the Vixen 2.1 scheduler too, but I hear most people prefer the xLights scheduler.

Thanks Jon. Hmmm... Setting up another controller output seems like a lot of work and new things to learn= not so easy... But I'll take a look at xlights tomorrow.

Can you collect logs or in task manager right click on the process when it is hung a create a dump file for me. I need something to go on to see what is happening.

Okay, sure! I've been trying..I see there's multiple options for log files in Vixen. I attached a few from awhile ago. And of these the right type, or should I be capturing it off the Task Manager? I haven't created a log file from there before but I just read up on it and will do so tonight!
