Default NC effects and their interaction with HLS?

My question, and I'm going to be honest I haven't searched for the answer, but my question is this. You export an effect from NC. You then import that effect from the Nutcracker folder within HLS. Once on the grid, is that effect file within the nutcracker folder used again? Is it hard coded into the sequence file with the import or does it reference the NC file any time it's played?

It's not hard coded in the import, as you can test by copying the sequence to another computer without the nutcracker effects (you will see error upon error as HLS can't find the effects).
Now for the export it may be another matter as I haven't done that as of yet, but I would expect it to be all together when exporting to run a show.
I'm sure Joe will chime in to clarify.

Your sequences has an NC effect that is referenced by its name when in HLS editor mode.

When you compile for Export -- as in a Playlist fro a show -- all illumination is contained within the export file and no reference is made to the NC effect name or its location withing the HLS file structure.
