I have GE35 Color Effect strings. Does it look best to hang them pointing DOWN or pointing FORWARD?

From a distance I don't think it matters. I typically have them down but as I switch to James mounting strips they will be forward. I also will have icicles (GECE) pointing down of course.

I point my GECE window and eaves outlines down, or out to keep them parallel with the siding on the house but I will also be pointing them out on my tree like Skunberg.

    Either will likely look fine.

Agree. From a distance it doesn't make any difference. Although I know exactly why you are asking...the lens pointed forward does seem brighter when you have them in your hands. I do like having more square inches inches visible from the street and hang mine upside down.

Thanks for the replies. It's a funny question and appreciate the responses. I think I am going to go pointing DOWN. It's easier for me to hang.

I know you didn't ask about UP but I would definately stay away from up. I had my driveway border gece's pointing up and had lots of failures. Most due to either poor factory solder joints or water intrusion. I think facing them up allows water to sit in the gap around the bulb and base and eventually seep in.

I've been pretty fortunate and not have had any mass failures and I'm heavily invested in GECE. I do have one string that is a little too long for the roofline, and I just tuck those extras into the gutter. Last year they sat in water for a few months, but during my pre-check out this year, all of them worked.
