Do I understand it correctly that you can send the description file to 3D print shops and they will make an item for a fee?

What might be cool is to give the box a DIY logo and have a batch of them made up, maybe in colors?

Curious as to which 3-D printer your son has?

Here are the SolidWorks files that were used. I used #4 stainless sheet metal screws to attach the boards to the case. A #6 flat head to attach the top.
My son bought me a Flash Forge dual extruder printer for my Birthday. This is the first useful thing that I have printed with it. Besides the rubber band gun to shoot the cats with.

I converted to .STL files for upload to online printers and then tried 2 so far. The first one, REDEYE wants $150 (looks like a min cost?), the second wants $24 plus shipping.

SJS, I assume we only need the top and bottom drawings?

That is correct, there are only two parts.

Any chance you could convert and post the .stl files? I have a Makerbot at school and would like to see how it would print.

We might be able to print some for users here, just need to figure out how much filament it would take.

    Here are the stl files.

I would be willing to print a few for a minimal cost to cover the plastic and shipping.

Thanks! I downloaded the files. I go back to school Monday and we just happen to have a 3D printer. Wanna guess what my first project is going to be.
