Default Don't think you can do it?

Most of the words you guys talk about go right over my head. So I started simple. I understood SSR's The principle, the parts, what they do. I thought I would buy some boards and build some SSR's. Alas, Wjohn is outback doing a walkabout. Now I'm sure when he's back I can get some SSR oz boards. But in the mean time I read and read and read. I orded 47 blank copper clad sheets from e-bay, downloaded two or the PDF's of boards, bought some chemicals, etched some boards, found a really nice one, drilled some holes and installed all the parts the Mouser sent me from the BOM and walla, I have my first DIY SSR. FROM SCRATCH. Now I didn't design it and I'm not going to. You guys keep doing it and I'll just follow along like paint by the numbers. If your new, (and I don't use the term newbie) your only new until you post one time, solder one wire, make one LED blink. I like rookie. Cause most of the people on this board are still in their Rookie year. So if your reading along on this stuff and dreaming, jump in. If I can build one of these little things anybody can.

Very nice! Now, you will never be without a pcb that is needed. Glad to see a new member to the etching club!

    Working on
16,400,000 lights on 64,000 channels with 1,000 REN 64's powered by 12 IBM AS400's and one nuclear power plant.
Just think ... a "FEW" more of those scratch built/etched PCBs and you'll be done , before ya know it ... LOL

    VERY nice work .
And THATs what makes this forum so GREAT ! DIY !
( not to mention all the help that is here when needed )
