Wanted: source for bulk tri-color LEDs

So I'm toying with the idea of an RGB LedTricks panel.

Does anyone have any information on where I could buy tri-color LCD's by the thousands? I suspect this project won't be cost-effective but I want to check into it some more before I give up prematurely.

I haven't seen any so far (although I haven't looked much). I purchased just one batch of 30 RGB 5mm LEDS from some Ebay source in China, but haven't taken it any further. They were about $.30 each (including shipping if I recall correctly).

same here. sourced 50 10mm RGB from china ebay. cost with shipping was 25.99. alot of that was shipping. if i recall, they sold the same thing in lots of 1000 for ~ $200.

yes, im getting my RGB led's from ebay as well. it seems to be the place.

but they are not cheap.
