Your other kits included an enclosure.

The beta-test thread says no enclosure.

Can you confirm enclosures are included in this kit purchase or not?

    Thanks

This may not be the right thread, but what's the difference between the 2811 and 2801? The WS2801 and WS2811 on diyledexpress show the same specs for both (IP68 led pixel module 50 Count, 50 12mm RGB Pixels/string. 18awg wiring, 120mm spacing between pixels, 5v, IP68, UV Rated )

They are different ICs in the pixels, the 2801 uses 4 wires and the 2811 uses 3 wires. There is a lot of info about pixels in the wiki.

    Wayne.
    Just paypal'ed an order.

BTW: What is the connector to link to the Pixels? I want to order a few connectors to mate with it from Jameco?

No problem about the connector. Found the part and requested a couple of samples from Molex.

I am packing up your order right now.

Exactly which connector are you referring to? I want to make sure I give you the right number.

Well signed up for "molex" samples, and the molex santa sent me a couple through USPS free of charge.

See even adults can get prezzies.. ;-)

How many of you tinkerers sign up for samples from electronics companies? I heard Microchip is quite generous.

    wayne,
how hard would it be (in other words how much hardware would need to be added) to make these Ethernet addressable? (like the e682)
have each board with its own address, it would make trouble shooting MUCH easier, and updating specific issues like baud rate, group size, group count, etc could all be done from the laptop rather than replacing the pic chip (which in my case can be tedious).

i have had 1 board out of 16 have no voltage regulation (i could find nothing wrong with the board itself - so i replaced u3 to no avail). which means if i run 12v pixels - 12v goes to the pic chip (OUCH). so it is my 5v spare

OH that brings up a question...
is the schematic accurate? i ask because as i was troubleshooting another board, i noticed that in the schematic on j5 pins 4 and 5. they do not follow to the schematic destination..
RENARD PX1 PIXEL CONTROLER REVE SCHEMATIC.PNG

in the schematic j5 pin 4 goes to r6 and r5, but on the board j5 pin 4 goes to j1 pin 2 and r7.
in the schematic j4 pin 5 goes to j1 pin 2 and r7 but on the board j4 pin 5 goes to r6 and r5.

i noticed this on all the boards.. so i am wondering if there is an updated schematic available?
the version i have is dated Thursday June 06,2013

There most likely won't be any changes to the PX1. It is intended for entry level. Adding that stuff only complicates things for beginners that want to try pixels. If those features are desired, there are others controllers to choose from.
