    Default Remote Control API

    Hi,

I love the idea behind HLS, and have considered using it. There's one thing holding me back, and that's the ability of remote control, specifically a network/web API which accepts commands over an HTTP request.

Vixen has a plugin "Remote Client" with the following API parameters: Link.

Are there any plans to incorporate similar functionality into HLS?

    Thanks,
    Brian

I have already implemented remote control for HLS Show.

    Please see thread : http://doityourselfchristmas.com/for...-input-trigger

I see in that thread mention of Start, Pause and Stop capabilities via an UDP packet.

Are there capabilities for controlling individual channels?
Ability to poll HLS for status information, including song name, duration of song and current time position being played?

My end result is to allow users to control the lights with their cell phones. I'm doing this now using Vixen and have a web server/website which takes the user input and sends HTTP GET requests to my Vixen server. They can see a list of songs, pick which ones they want to play, and they can also turn on/off different sets of lights.

Thanks for the response and the amount of work you've put into HLS already!
