    Default Fast snowfall tube videos???

Does anyone have any videos of FAST's with blue LEDs as the last LED. I have bought some and am in the process of building them. I bought some blue LED's to go with my whites but I would like to see what they look like with the last one being blue first. If anyone has a good video could they post it. Thanks

I don't know if there are any videos around but you could always not solder the last few led's and just place them in there as a test.. then if you like them solder if not go with the white.

Just a tip, depending on your tube and bottom cap, the last 1-2 leds may end up inside the bottom cap.

    Jack

Tubes are McMaster Carr tubes and caps came from Todd at DIYLEDExpress...

I can confirm that - I made the 24" versions with the 4' tubes cut in half and using the black end caps. I had all white except the last one I put in a blue after seeing it done in somebody's video. Well - - as Jack indicated, that LED is blocked by the end cap on the bottom so it doesn't even show - - d'OH! Might be able to trim the cap a bit and pull up the board as high as possible and it might show...

Brian have you got a video of it in action. What the odds of putting something plastic in the bottom to hold the strip up to see it all also.

Nothing close-up - it looks like any other FAST tube otherwise. I only got four of them out and put them randomly in my MegaTree - you can see them here:

but Jack and others have much better videos of them in action.

Just don't put a cap on the bottom. Mine don't. I figure around here, it rarely rains up!

OR make a clear bottom cap out of a water bottle heat shrunk to fit to the tube (I use my propane heater and a right size pvc pipe to do mine). Not only can you see all the leds, it also makes the tube look more like an icicle in the light!

My fix was to install a lightweight cap inside the existing end cap to raise up the PC Board. This adds another inch to the overall length of the tubing but exposes the lower LED. The other problem is that these caps have a 500 piece minimum order.
