    Default Coroplast vs Inteplast

I had my son who lives in Columbus, Ohio go to the Tubelite warehouse to pick up several sheets of coroplast for me this afternoon as I was going to his house this evening to help with some remodeling. When I got home just after midnight I unloaded the coroplast or so I thought. When I checked the invoice I had ordered 4 sheets of Black and 6 sheet of white. When I checked the invoice I received 1 Black Coroplast and 3 substituted "equivalent" sheets of Inteplast All six of the white had been substituted with inteplast. Price was great $8.36 each for white and $9.42 for both types of black corrugated plastic.

Does anyone have any experience with this other brand and is it equivalent to the coroplast?

    Thanks for any information, Randy

I just did a quick Google search.

Inteplast is a company name, as is Coroplast. Inteplast has the IntePro fluted plastic product, which appears similar to the "twin wall fluted board" which is what Coroplast calls its product.

In the US, Coroplast has become a household name for fluted, corrugated plastic sheets, much like Kleenex became synonymous with tissues.

So I think you got what you wanted, which is coro, just manufactured by someone else than Coroplast.

Tubelite is awesome. They have fantastic prices You probably got 4mm, which is the standard thickness. I think I'm going to pick up a couple of 10mm pieces for use in a matrix.

You can find a local reseller from the CoroPlast website (http://www.coroplast.com/distributor). That's where I initially found Tubelite. Just so happens they have a couple of locations. If you call around you should be able to find coro for under $10 a sheet in your area.

I've purchased thousands of sheets of "real" coroplast and of Inteplast's coro (made not to far from our shop!). The problem is that there are MANY version of coro from each mfg and the differences include squareness of ends, translucence, corona treatment, straight PP or a mix, half and half, etc. So, it's impossible based on the information provided, to determine if the two "match".

In general, coro is pretty generic unless you are doing something unique with it.
