Yes but we allwant cheap stuff... so if he had an employi to manage it prices go up. As your looking at 500$ minimum expense. (India packestan etc)For a guy to anser suport emails. Saying all that you all need to setup your shopping carts to figure out shipping. So you don't hve as mutch work.

Also ticket systems work great especily for urgent clients

David is 100% correct. For all those watching...almost every problem we have like this is based on an email provider rejecting emails from us. Its not like we ignore folks....they are just not getting our replies. Yahoo is the worst offender at present. We cannot police all the email providers trying to prove that we are not spam. I am not sure that I have an answer for that at present.

Also...if fixing the shopping cart were that simple, it would have been done a long time ago.

    Chris,
I have also placed an order with you and if waiting for my stuff is what I have to do then wait I shall. Just as long as I can get this by October! This will be my first "Blinky Flashy Year" and although I would like to have the unit in my hand, I also know that others that are before me want their stuff too!!
Keep up the good work and I look forward hearing that sweet word "shipped"!!

Yeah the email thing is a constant battle. yahoo is not the worst though... At&t and roadrunner are, i have never yet been able to operate a email server that can get though to them.

Also the trick with yahoo and hotmail is try to send only 1 email max per day to each email address. Then go though and submit there form, same one you use when they completely block you.

Or be lazy and just make your server use gmail

Thats weird with the carts I have never seen one not work with shipping. Most seam to just use items weight to calculate shipping. I pretty sure open cart can do it correctly.http://www.opencart.com/

    re: shipping

It not that simple as going by weight.

For example, you order 2 PCBs and 2 enclosures. The weight of the PCB is minimal, but the enclosures take up a lot of space. How do you account for that?

And if you put a very small weight on the PCB, it still costs money to send it by itself. Packaging for the shipping box also costs $ and is not usually accounted for in the price of the item.

So it becomes much more complex than most of the shopping carts can do....

I guess if you figure some slop in the price of the items, you can get away with doing some weight based shipping cost. I know the big guys like Amazon and NewEgg probably do that, but for us that are trying to ship group buy things, that have different items sizes, and keeping costs down, it just doesn't work that way.

So I can relate to Chris's issues...

Why not just weight then item when packed? Well even just paddding the price by $1-2 woudlnt matter too much especially for NON groupbuy orders. Just seams like you guys do too mutch work

Newegg shipping = every thing goes in a big box. I haven gotten ram modules in a 3x5ft box.

Heard from Chris today with a shipping quote, hopefully all is straightened out. Not sure why I wouldn't have received them because all my mail either gets delivered or goes into a spam folder which I check daily. Gotta love technology ;)

    Tim,

Actually that's not always correct...there is a layer of spam control at the host's level than I have problems with constantly. You do not get them and I get no notice that it has been rejected.
