    Default 4 pin Pixel configuration

I am about to finish of 8x RGB Pixel based mini trees figure I should wire them the same as the majority of users.
Is there a standard for the pin connections on Pixels?
If not what shall we make the DIYC standard?

MPH can you advise what you recommend?

Once this is sorted I will add toe the Wiki.

    Thanks

My vote would be for the E681 convention (see http://sandevices.com/documents/E681...structions.pdf - page 10 - bottom left) - it supports a reasonable amount of power and has both C and D connectors.

Yep let's make all rectangular / sip connectors the same as Jim's layout.

    How about round waterproof connectors?

Interestingly enough, the E680 has the clock and data wires swapped from the E681 pins. Of course the pins are spaced different.

Note also there is the j1sys layout, which uses similar, if not identical connectors, and may have the pin layout different. I haven't checked to see how he does it.

For the 4 pin circular connectors, it's a toss up on what color wire you get for what pins. Is there a standard?

The round 3 pin I got from Ray had brown, blue and green / yellow. As in the UK brown is live and blue neutral and the data wire on the pixels was green it was a no brainer . Brown V+, blue V0 and green and yellow data. I don't know what colours come in the round 4 pin connector.

    Matt,

How about using the code already established http://auschristmaslighting.com/wiki...#Round_Moulded

ultimately the colours may change based on individual orders but could we keep the pinouts consistent to encourage plug and play and interchangeability?
I'm a little surprised that Jim may have used a differing pinout to j1sys considering he asked to use the same connectors and now does.

The 3.5mm euro connectors used on the J1sys boards and on the E681 do have the same pinout.

Jim uses the same as Stellascapes, but J1Sys is different.

On our XLR and PCB connectors, we *always* wire 1- +V, 2-CLK, 3-DATA, 4-GND If we have a 3 wire interface, we just drop pin 2.. The little round connectors are wired differently.. Annoying little bit of history, but given the number of connectors out there, i'm not changing the way we are making them.

I'd just suggest that its somethignt hat people need to be *very* aware of given that pixels and connectors are coming from multiple places and there is no real standard.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing. The purpose of this thread is to document the most commonly used pin outs, not to be critical of development milestones.
Thank you for your input, but please keep it to the state aim.

MPH don't suppose you could email me a photo on connectors on the unit. send to matt8baulkolites.com ( you know what to do with the 8)
