Re: Rope lights or C9 lights on roof line
You can make the c7 strand any length you need. You run into problems if you are using incandescent bulbs as opposed to LED as far as power consumption is concerned. I have a 1ft spacing on the sockets and have 100 LED C9s per total run which is comprised of two 50 cnt socket strands. You could probably go out about 1.5ft which would help you reduce the number of C7s you would need. You can get the bulk C7 bulbs from Creativedisplays.com.
You can either make the socket strands yourself with the vampire c7 sockets and some SPT2 wire that you can get from CDI or WLC Ventures or you can even buy a spool of c7 sockets already on wire. You can shop around and see what's available. I did it about two years ago and if I remember correctly I bought sockets from noveltylights.com
