Some RGB questions...

Last night I finally played around with the holiday coro RGB pixels and a strip of 3528 warm whites (my RGB strip is on it;s way) and I have some questions that I've come up with.

I used the 3 channel DMX controller from Holiday coro and it cycles through the colors automatically. Is it possible to reprogram that default cycling? I have an idea for another project with those and was curious. OK that really wasn't an RGB question...

With the warm white 3528 strip. I haven't tried hooking it up to the DMX controller yet. I was wondering do I just take the positive and pick one of the three channels to control it with (on/off and the levels between). If so can I use the other 2 channels left if I can get the positive to another item (another piece of strip). Or am I thinking of how this is used in the wrong way?

For runs between items that I'm just going to control as the same channel do I just use ethernet cable soldered in to connect them? Or is there a better method or type of cable?

As for the DMX controller, it will cycle if it isn't getting any DMX signal. And as far as I know, you can't change it.
