I'm just curious about how you got to this setup?
I did not plan on this setup from the beginning by all means, it just turned out this way. I got into this over a year ago after stumbling on Kevin Cook's website eventually finding myself here at DIYC. Being new, I modeled all my controllers, SSR's, etc from what he did. Long story short, after purchasing and building all the parts I stumbled on the different topography's of setting up the light displays and for some reason the centralized display really appealed to me. It so happens my really good friend is an electrician and happened to have all these panels laying around their shop and it really cost me hardly anything for all the electrical parts, romex, etc. Well, it led to what you see now. But, if I had to do it over again, I would have definately gone the REN24 and/or REN24SS route. Beleive me this was a lot of work. And, as far as the channel count, I am pretty much maxed out for the size of my home (display wise) and I am already pushing it amperage wise, so I am cool with that.

But, you have to admit, it does really look cool! LOL!

Thank you. It took a while. I laid everything out in Adobe Illustrator first to make sure all my components fit. I'd say though working on it here and there it took about 4 months.

Yes, very cool!!! I'm glad to hear you didn't knock it out in a weekend too. As our hobby goes LED and pixels your amperage should go down or at least not rise. But channel count is another thing. When pixelize a mega-tree, we take down 4 strings tied together (white, Green, Red, Blue) that took 4 channels and put up a 50 ct pixel string that's 150 channels. Times how many strings around?
I'm sure your set for awhile so it's just a seed for the back of your mind. Thank you very much for the explanation of how you got to such a great control setup!!!

( yes , it does look extremely nice , but also looks EXTREMELY costly if you had to go out and buy the needed items )

I haven't got around to enclosures yet, but my old alarm company did have the courtesy of abandoning this equipment in my garage years ago. My, my, my .... the wheels are turning in my brain already.CIMG0684.jpg
