Thread: Testing new pixels quick connection method???

Default Testing new pixels quick connection method???

I just got a big order from Mr Ray and wanted to know how you guys typically test all of your pixels, strips and strings? I'd like to verify they all work in quick order without having to solder or anything crazy. Just something quick to verify each works.

I have a ECG. Not looking for hardware specific items. More along the lines to quick connect strings to the ECG without twisting tons of wires, screws, etc. Do you clip wires together?? This could also lead into prototyping questions. How would you quickly connect wires and stuff to verify lengths before soldering.

    Ideas???

You can buy "cam lever" terminal blocks for situations like that. Sick a couple of those on a scrap of vero board.

That's a pretty sweet idea! I got some alligator clips for the time being. It's not the more efficient method, but it works

The Wago 222 and 224 series are nice for quick connects for testing and prototyping. For testing pixels, I'd use the 224-201. Newark/Element14 carries them.
