Hi.
Last season there was much discussion on how an antenna should be set up and used and even to what type of antenna was best. Many of the comments and questions involved the possible use of an SWR meter to help achieve a good working system that was not harmful to the transmitter.
To that end, I experimented and developed the "VLP SWR Meter", trying to keep it as simple and inexpensive as possible. Even though I couldn't meet the $5.00 junk box parts goal, I did arrive at an inexpensive instrument.
Although there have many views (597 at last count) of my paper "VLP SWR METER", there have been very few comments, which got my good friend Dirknerkle and I to wondering if its use appeared to be too complicated.
To show that the VLP is very easy to use and understand, I have attached an addendum both here on this post and on the original entry.
Using the VLP is no more complicated than using a DVM and the DIYCer should have no difficulty understanding it.
Please feel free to contact me through this Forum or by PM if you have any questions or comments.
Thanks, guys and gals.
