8x Pixel Mini trees

I puchased a stack of pixels a while back and have been wondering what to do with them. MiniTrees it is. They look way better than last years RGB strip mini trees.

Each tree currently has 50 pxels. But now I realise that wont be easy to partition into universes.
On the E681 50 ch trees means using 3 sockets in the clusters 1 & 2 and 2 sockets in Cluster 3. Like wise 42 ch trees means using 4 soekets on Clusters 1 & 2 only.

My question to the Pixel experts 50x8 = 1200 channels or 2.3 Universes OR 42 x 8 = 1008 Channel or a tad below 2 universes.

85 x 4 works, as well. thats as good as it gets. Whats the limitation with sockets?

Supplementary question please. Are computer Power Supplies a good option for these +5v pixels? I will need 24 Amps for the all 8 trees Most PCPS's will meet that requirement.

Is this bunch of pixels you purchased rgb or digital ?

D705 on a E681 ( configured as a LDP6803).

I just went thru this. If you don't have plans for the other two clusters, just leave it at 8 strings of 50 on clusters 1 and 2. Using 1200 of the 2040 DMX address's available. Also see post http://doityourselfchristmas.com/for...and-E681-setup Mark offers some insight.
