shoot some pics of the drilling
Sorry for the delay . Was sidetracked working on other elements of my display. My pixels arrived today so I made some final adjustments bought a small drill press and set it up tonight. Was going to use a step drill but found the small press doesnt have enough travel. So going to either get a new 12mm drill bit tomorrow or look at some other options to get a more precise hole. But took a couple of pics of the rig anyway.

Fairly simple idea it consists of a drill press vice, a spare bit of steel plate and a 12mm bolt with its head removed .

Once the first hole is drilled, it is moved onto the pin, then every other hole will be in perfect alignment.

Simple WAG. (Wild A$$ Guess). My pixels came with 120mm spacing (4.7 inch) and I'm still planning how to build my tree.
So I've been watching closely. As I'm also looking at 180 half tree, 10 strings of 50 folded in half (so twenty strings).
I was planning to pull them tight to keep them lined up but this looks like it would work out better.
We'll see when you post a pic with the pixels installed and report how it works out.

    nice rig, i like it.

so your drilling the holes and then going to cut in half?? how well they hold up after that?

If you went with a larger diameter you might be able to cut it in half. But as the hole is 12mm all the way thru and I believe I it was mentioned earlier that he's going to push them thru the back side. So I don't think he plans to cut them.

If you moved up to 3/4 inch or 1 inch I bet you could cut them in half.
    Might be easier to mount?

Maybe glue the covers to the drilled pipe rather than the pixel?
I think maybe your right, invest in a tie-wrap farm and wrap them to the pipe.
I'm planning to do the GECE arches that way.
