    Default DIY Snow Machine

While looking around the net for some cool grandfather/grandson projects to do, I ran across this bad boy. A real, live snow maker that you can make for about $90 (providing that you already own an air compressor and pressure washer). Just thought I'd pass along the link. Enjoy.

Now I just need to sell a job that will justify me buying a decent pressure washer, I don't think the wife will let me put that in the Christmas budget.

These snow guns are a lot of fun!

You need cold to get good snow - ~ 27 wet bulb temp. There is more info here:

    Easy and they work well!

Build the gun and borrow a Pressure Washer. It will still be fun to build and when the newness and coolness wears off, you return the Pressure Washer. I can tell you that it takes a pretty strong pressure washer and good hoses. I'm not sure why, but cheap hoses Freeze Up more easily.

There are a few websites dedicated to Snow Guns. Companies that sell kits and parts as well as complete Home setups.

I have a neighboor who makes snow every time the temp drops below freezing. (Only about 3 or 4 times a year)

The weather man at one of the local stations has a snow gun.

he demonstrates the process for the station about every year when the temps get cold enough
