Default How Test Supeflux LEDs without LED Tester

I've got my FAST setups coming today and realized, doh!, forgot to order an LED tester...

I thought I read in a post previously someone was using a modified computer supply for this (but couldn't find it), and was wondering specifically how you would do that (I have modified a computer power supply and can easily hook up +12, -12, +5, or +3.3).

I was thinking of just applying 3.3V or 5V across + and - but worried I'm missing the obvious and might need a current limiting series resistor or something...
My multimeter has a diode tester so was thinking I could use that as well...

Other alternative is just build the boards and see

Just trying not to reinvent the wheel.

    Thanks in advance!

Many (most?) multimeters have a diode check setting. That's what I use.

You don't want to connect directly to a power supply - it will smoke the LED. Use a watch cell battery and place the leads around the edges of it. It will take a bit of trial and error to find the correct orientation but once you do it goes quick.

+1 what he said. Just use your DMM on diode check. Quick and easy.

+1 On the watch battery. Get a CR2032, cheapest and easiest LED tester ever...
