You shouldn't need the H11AA1 on the Ren64 - there is a pull-up on that line (R14 - 27K) for all the PICs so MCLR doesn't float w/o it. I know for the DMX code you have to indicate it's a DC build - not sure if there's the same thing in the standard serial code. The Ren48LSD doesn't have the H11AA1 and it works fine and the Ren64 uses the same code.

Firmware was done by Wjohn so not 100 percent sure .. May also be that I bring in 5VDC for my supply rather than the 6.3 VAC specified.With all 4 of my Ren64 boards running PWM I still need zero crossing to reset the board.
Are you running the DC firmware? From what I understood the DC firmware didn't require the ZC signal.

I use the 48LSD to control my 5050's.....it works great!
This year, I will be adding more 5050's to my display and plan on controlling them with the 48LSD controller.
