I assume you are thinking about the dryer hose to make a more diffused look?? That would look cool, but I think it looks great like it is.. you may lose the flexibility of doing a one node chase effect.

Looks like about two inches apart and a tie wrap on each side of the bulb. Perfect. Looks great easy to make and setup.

i like this design.. I may just have to borrow your idea... Way more cost effective then wrapping 24 strings!

My origional thinking was I was going to use the GE lights for a mega tree. Had it drawn out and was already sequencing for it. I was going to re-do my arches this year, wasn't looking forward to wrapping all those sleeves. I woke up in the middle of then night a week or so ago and said to myself arches, poles and fans, not mega tree. So far my new layout is better than my old one and no winding sleeves.

Wow, the bulbs are standing up, not facing front!

I'm impressed by the brightness of the pixels at that angle! I'm planning several "fans" with 9 arms each about 6 ft in length and am using the GECE's about 7 inches apart, but facing the viewer.

I would leave out the dryer hose - it looks great as it is!

I also have 2 fans planned, I am going with 8 arms of 16 pixels each. Total length of each arm is 4 feet. Spacing is less than 3 inches, a little tighter than the arch. I have done some sequencing for the fan, it is going to look awsome, will definatly need the controller before I post video of it. I am going to do 4 verticle poles also, 10 feet tall. That will use up my 16 sets of GECE's. The poles and fans will face the viewer, like you said. I have a pole built, if anyone wants some video of that I can capture some.

I'd love to see the poles. I'm planning to do some 8 ft poles as well - probably 7 of them. But using intelligent strips, rather than individual nodes for these.

Odd number means there is a "center" pole or leg of the fan.

I've got the fans built in 3 sets of 3 legs, so they'll break down into smaller sections for storage.

if you do the dryer vent your better off with the standard pixels and not hiding the gece lol.

looks good. wish the gece didnt have so much wire between them, really kills some options without trying to shorten the cables. i might try to see what a full 30ft arch looks like with 1 string, but i doubt ill be happy as i would with 4in spacing of reg pixels.
2012 - The year of the pixels
    21ft tall 12x38ct WS2811 Pixel Megatree - DONE
    5 36ct GECE Pixel Archs - Maybe
Pixelated roofline with windows - DONE
Bigger matrix and pixel star - DONE
Added 1200 pixels, a few strobes, and fast tubes
Now it just all has to play nicely lol.
