Default Will Vixen 2.1.1 do a global fade?

I have created a sequence but I want to fade out slowly at the end of the song. Can I apply a global fade for all the channels or must I go back and manually try to fade the channels. I have arches leaping back and forth and want to slowly dim them as song ends. That would be alot of work! :/

I don't find it to be that hard. I had 241 channels last year, I just highlighted the columns I wanted and all 241 rows, did a ramp-down and that was it. Took about 15 seconds. You could also do one row, then copy/paste it over all the other rows using the graphic tool. Piece of cake. I did all 36 of my sequences in less than 20 minutes.

Suggestion: It's a good idea to leave about 1/2 second of blank, all off cells at the end of a sequence if you want to make sure everything gets turned off...

One way to do this would be:
    1. open an empty Sequence with the same Profile or #channels as your real Sequence
    2. select all of the channels
    3. use the Fade function to create a Fade on all the channels for the length of the Fade you want
    4. use Control+C to copy that cell pattern to the Clipboard
    5. open your real Sequence
    6. at the point in time you want the global Fade to start, click on the first channel
    7. click on the Arithmetic Paste toolbar dropdown (little clipboard icon with "+" and "-" on it) and choose Scale

This will multiply all the channel values starting at the point you chose in step 6 by the value in the cells that were copied and pasted to the Clipboard. For example, when the copied cells were at 100% there would be no effect, when they were at 50% the new cell values would be 50% of the old values, etc.

EDIT: The above steps would preserve any existing effects that were in those channels and just fade them all out to 0 (I assumed that was what you wanted to do, but I might have misunderstood).

well when I tried that, itj ust turned on ALL the cells and ramped them down. Since i am doing a chase, I need the ones off to stay off. Just progressively dim the cells that are on.

Roy, glad it helped! BTW, the other Arithmetic Paste functions can be used in a similar way, but they affect the channel values in different ways. For example, if you did a Ramp instead of Fade and then used Scale or Add, your channels would get brighter until they were all on, etc. (might not be too useful in a Sequence, but still kinda fun to play with to get interesting effects).
