Very excited!

I remember my first board, well, maybe I shouldn't i placed some 6 pin IC's in facing the wrong direction, I assumed i had screwed up the board and went back and re-read the wiki and and realized i had soldered the socket in backwards on a 14 pin placement, I than tried to de-solder, wow it hurts rethinking it all. I ended up salvaging parts after getting the board to hot and destroying it. So when someone gets excited about their first board It brings a smile to my face . I try not to forget my 1st board because my failures there made me more attentive on the 7 boards i have built since that. Each one built brings back that smile. Congrats!!! I hope you have many smiles and just think of all the smiles on the faces of those that will come see your show.

So you realize that if you solder a socket in "backwards" all you need to do is put the chip in it the right direction, right? There is no logic to the socket, just the mark to make it easier to put a chip in the right direction, but the socket can be either way and still work...
