I stumbled on this great tutorial that details how to build an electronics kits. It is full of tips and other information that a person new to building kits might find helpful. Give it a look. Keep in mind it is in 4 parts so once you finish reading one part, you need to scroll back to the top of the page to access the next part (I wish there was a link to the next part at the bottom of the page but I did not find any).
