    Very true.

But you may want to check that you've got them all configured with the same PAN ID and that you've adjusted the Renard plug-in serial settings in Vixen to be 8 *M* 1 instead of 8N1 to match what I assume you configured the XBee's to. The light on the RenW flashes no matter what's going on so don't take that as a sign that it's receiving good data from Vixen.

Sorry Mud, you're absolutely right, just wanted to get some suggestions out there before I'm off to work for the day.

    Thanks,

My second order of three came in this afternoon and they all updated and make blinky-flashy.
First year up and running! Over 35,000 lights and 410 Total Channels of Blinky Flashy - 275 Channels Renard and 135 Channels of E1.31. All wireless. Show is just over 30 minute with 11 songs so far. Whew - What a first year!!

What are the options for boards used to programs these things? I see the Explorer is used, but are there other common boards? Can an Arduino be used in any way?

    Thanks

I have an XBee adapter for my Mega 2560. I wasn't aware I could program the Xbee though that.
    Thanks

I just received my 2 XBEEs today and they work great. It just took a little dancing around with the baud rate and parity after a firmware update to smoothen things out. Anybody know if there is a newer version of the firmware that I should be using? I know that 10E6 is listed in the wiki and that's what I upgraded it to, but there are several other versions listed.

    Renard 64XC5. 18 Custom SSRez. 2 Spare. 2 Ren-W (SMA and Rev6).
2011- 6 leaping arches and 1 15ft spiral mega tree down by the highway.
    2012- DCSSRs, RenSS24, more XBEEs

I'd imagine that anything 10E6 or later ought to be fine.

The DIGWDF Store is the place to go for wireless stuff for Renard... controllers, adapters... or other junk that
nobody else would probably ever make. It's all in stock right now at http://diychristmas.org/store

Anyone else planning to order any? Being "international" this great buy isn't an option for me, but I'd love to get a hold of at least 4 more modules.

On the firmware list, which way is the new firmware? Up or Down? 1081 is at the top.
