Thread: ColorMotions Tree

  1. Default Re: ColorMotions Tree

I bypassed using the sealing tool or crimping tool and used a double foldback on the D rings and eyebolts and secured with cable ties. A single foldback slips under 50 # of tension while the double holds. Even though 20# of tension is enough , I wanted to be sure no slippage would occur with wind movements, etc. Imagine having a mega tree with over 50 guy wires rated at 1400#.

    Walter,

Looking forward to those little kind of "details" that you've discovered thru your trials this past year. I'm not sure what a "double foldback" is, but if it works, great!

Here is some updated videos with HD resolution of the ColorMotions Tree. The pixel bands are spaced 6 inches on the bottom ring. Will be moving them to 3.75 inches after the holidays for better resolution.

That is beyond awesome Walter....love it.

Will you provide daytime closeup pictures or video of how the pixels are secured and the overall structure of the tree?

    thank you for sharing...

Beacy - Videoing any Christmas lighting is difficult . RGB stuff is even harder. We finally broke down last year and bought a fairly high end video camera , the panasonic AG-HMC150.

Thanks PurpleNeons. We are putting together a photo gallery which will show how the ends are connected.

    Walter,
Very impressive! I have watched the mega trees evolve over the last 7 years, but this is by far the biggest move forward since the Z tree. Nice to see you and yours continuing to share your hard work and deep thought with others. Look forward to viewing and reviewing what you will be putting together for us all to glean from.
