    Default Light Keeper Pro

I bought a whole bunch of new strings from Lowes this year. Had a few that didn't work out of the box. Tried the good ol light keeper pro on them and it didn't work! I know it still works because I fixed some other strings with it. Something new with the strings? Any one have this problem?

The LKP will only fix strings with a bulb with an open filament. It can’t fix a bad socket.

There’s a proximity sensor built-in that can help find an open connection. The key is to start on the end that makes it beep. Pull it back away from the lights to where you just barely sense the voltage. It’s very sensitive, so if you touch every bulb, it’ll sense voltage whether it’s open or not.

Oldcqr....great article! I use the LKP and have learned through trial and error about 75% of what you say....I just learned the last 25%.

It is a very sensitive device.

    Thanks...
