You are correct - not sure where I got 25 - I'll update the post to clarify. I tried to just now but the editing window comes up blank for some reason...

edit - fixed now - thanks for pointing that out!

I'm finished building and now working on the actual "testing" of things. I'm starting to have a sinking feeling that I may be in trouble with something...

I have RPM's dongle connected into the network and have configured the E1.31 plugin in vixen. I am *pretty sure* this is working: I run a vixen sequence, lights flash on the dongle, and when I pull up the webserver, it shows my channel count and packets received, which match the dialog that is output by the plugin when a sequence is stopped.

However, no lights that are plugged into the renard board are lighting. I have the webserver and the physical jumpers set for DMX. I'm beginning to wonder if perhaps the firmware on the pics need to be changed for DMX. This would be a problem for me, as I don't have a pic programmer!

    Anyone have any ideas?

You need to select "Renard" for the jumper settings (regardless if running Renard/Serial or Renard/DMX code on the PICs) - not DMX.

I did try this, without positive results.
So, set renard jumpers and set renard as the protocol in the webserver of the bridge?
Is the cat5 cable wiring from bridge to renard board regular standard or do I need to change the wire output?
If I have it set as renard, how is it that it is actually using dmx?
I have jumper one and three open on the board; isn't this correct?

    Hahaha... I'm so lost!

The "Renard" and "DMX" jumper settings just set the physical pinouts from the bridge out to the controllers. When you select "Renard" it uses pins 4/5 for the outputs whereas "DMX" uses 1/2 for outputs. So if you are connecting to any Renard controller, it should always be at the "Renard" settings. Also - ALL four jumpers should be moved over to the right for that connector.

Refer to RPM's documentation here: http://shop.martinxmas.com/attachmen..._attachment=26

I really appreciate all your help and patience over several of these issues. I had actually read through RPM's info multiple times, but I did look again. It took it until now for it to click to me that there's a difference in *wiring* output and *protocol* output!

Hopefully will give this another try later this evening.

    I'm getting so frustrated!

Ok, I have dmx dongle set on dmx output, but jumpers set on renard. I hooked the renard controller up, but get no lights.

To remove the renard from the equation, I hooked up my LOR controller. I left the jumpers set on renard, but switched pins 4/5 on the cable. (I also switched 1&6, but does this matter?) I STILL get no lights!

    Anyone got ideas? Help!

I just reread this and it appears you have Renard/Serial on the PICs correct? In that case you need the socket/universe protocol configured for Renard output (which means the LOR would not work) as well as the jumpers set for Renard. Be sure the baud rate is set for 57600. You may want to post the config screen from your RPM bridge just to clarify the setup. Also describe what you have physically connected to which port.

Edit - also - supply a screen cap of your E1.31 plug-in config on Vixen.

I am *assuming* I have renard on the pics. I got them from the group buy and I don't have a pic programmer.

In the bridge, I have Output 1, Universe 1, protocol Renard @ 57,600. Jumpers are set to Renard.

In Vixen, Output plugin is J1Sys E1.31. HOWEVER, I just realized that I had a sequence with the plugin setup, and I had a profile with the plugin setup. So, I attached the sequence to the profile. However, when running, I still am not getting any output on the lights. I do know that the data is getting "out" to the bridge because the config page shows the packets received on universe 1.

    Here is the screencap:

Edit, just realized you were asking for a screencap of the bridge config page as well:

I noticed that you have the plug-in configured to use your wireless connection - is that correct? You may want to try your LAN/wired connection at least initially. I have my bridge, E681 and show laptop connected to a switch on a different network (192.168.2.x).
