I don't have any GE color effects strings, so I'm not certain what wire goes where.

However, here's the basics of pixel connections.

For WS2801 and some others, there are usually 4 connections - Power, Ground, Clock, Data

It's my understanding that for 180x and possibly the GE CE pixels, there are 3 connections - Power, Ground, Data

So you need to get the physical connections to the pixels correct first.

After that, I would suggest you try to get the first pixel to light when connected to the E681. This should be the first string on the first pixel output, which is J1 or 1-1 on the board.

This means that when you turn on channel 1 as listed in your plug-in connection, it should turn on Red on the first pixel.

I've had some issues with using Vixen and LSP to get the output right, so a simple choice is to use something like SACNview or another E1.31 utility to send out data to the first universe on the board. This totally bypasses any plug-in setup, since those utilities just format the packet and send it to the E681.

If you can't get the first or second pixel to light, then your connections are not correct. From the looks of your E681 settings, you should be OK for at least the first 50 pixels.

Note that your E1.31 plug-in is probably not set correctly for anything more than the first 50 pixels. It is set to use up to channel 150. In order to control more than 50 pixels on that cluster, you need to set to count to higher than 150. 50 pixels x 3 colors => 150 channels.

Jim St. John has done a good write-up on setting up the E681, and J1sys has talked about the plug-in setup. You need to get both of these set correctly to have it all work.

Thats what I figured. I sent him a PM too but got no response. I found some info in the other threads that said they were just AC line synced so I returned them all.

Thanks for the post to confirm.

Which gemmy lights did you get to work with the 681? (None of the attachments are included, must have been lost during the recent outage?)
