    Default RGB Spinners

( Note to MODs - I think this is the correct section if not please move)

A fellow country man created what he called an RGB Spinner. Check out his video over at ACL.com here.

I liked the idea concept, so started to plan my version.

I built the first prototype on Saturday afternoon. It was more off a POC for show the bride and got the "I like it"
I am in the middle of making the second prototype that also encloses the controller as part of the display item.

Prototype1 used a 100mm PVC end cap. I free hand milled the top for nut clearance

Hub was too small for Controller PCB.

Prototype 2 uses a 150mm PVC end cap. No need to mill the front face & the controller fits real nice.

It is probably too late in the season to add these and do them justice, but here is a quick test video.

    Never too late Matt! :p

Nice work on the controller as well. That's a pretty small footprint!

Very nice work Matt, im sure if you have the motivation you will add them in this year. It would make a very nice inclusion into your display.

This looks terrific - I think I'll cobble together a few of these for 2013. What size is the PVC going into the "hub" (3/4"?) and where did you find the threaded fittings to tie them into the hub? Home Depot?

    I used 20mm grey conduit
the threaded fittings are Clipsal branded "Conduit adaptors plain to screwed" part number 263/20GY
They look like Home depot http://www.homedepot.com/Electrical-...&storeId=10051
