10 Watt RGB Flood Light

Not sure if anyone is interested but I thought I would post so that my work might benefit others. I found a 10 watt RGB floodlight on E-Bay that was small and waterproof. It comes with a remote and runs on 120VAC. The unit has its on 12VDC power source.
What I did was create a small circuit using H11A1 (optoisolators transistor output) and hijack the gate on the board inside the light. I run my board off the 12VDC from the built in power supply and lift the gates from the original board. Merely connect the three wires from the 3K resistors to the optos to the gates. I grounded the gates through a 10K resistor.

By the way I have built a couple of the Mighty Minis, and 5 of the Rainbow Floods, these 10 watt lights are as bright.

How does this compare to the DIY versions I've seen posted on here? Probably won't get one this year but definitely next, I have a good spot for one or two.

close - that one is not waterproof but there's probabaly one on there somewhere!

Does not say waterproof, but it does have an ingress protection rating of 6/5 (6=Totally protected against dust, 5=Protected against low pressure jets if water from all directions - limited ingress permitted)

This one does say waterproof, but it is IP65 also.

There are all about the same, they very in price a little. By the way I received mine in less than 8 days.
