Very nice Matt, i was toying with the idea of making a few mini pixel based spiral trees with RGB pixel strings, i do like the tomato cage your using exactly what im looking for. Im looking forward to seeing this at the Sydney mini
The use of the strip is something i thought about but i was a bit unsure how it would go so i thought it would be better using the strings but I prefer using strip as it is already 100% weatherproof and as such doesnt require any additional work to use

I've tried the upside tomato thing before and it's worthless in case anyone wants to try it. I was curious why the little metal ball was on the top of the cage. Every time I've used them in the past (yes, for actually growing tomatoes) The "skinny" part, or what we call the top here actually went in the ground, so the large opening was up top. Regardless, I like these, and look forward to seeing them in action.

    I'll second this anti-recommendation!

And I'll second the sentiment here, too. Any video yet?

I like it! It's nice you can see all of the light from it unlike some mini's where the back is blocked by the front...

    Cost detailed i first post.
    2.5m of RGB strip = $15
tomato Trelis = $11 These are expensive, but hey in Australia we have little choice.
4ch controller = ? I used one of my own designs.
