Spiral RGB + Strobes Mini Tree

Some time late last year, I purchased some tomato trellis' for the wife's herb garden. At the time I thought, " I am going to have to buy some of them for me too"

Last night I hacked one together and am happy to add them to the display.
I also scored what I think is a half decent price on some waterproof RGB Strips - 40m for AUD120 delivered.

Cost estimation now sits at:
tomato trellis - $11
2.5m LED Strip - $15
4 Ch DMX DC Controller - $20
ACL strobe - ~ $5 (I think )

Well this thread details how I made my RGB LED Spiral Mini trees.
I intend to give as much details as I can so if it looks like it might work for you, it will be easy as.

I will be bring one of the trees along to the Sydney Mini for some good old show off and fellow critique.

Pictures! Sounds like a great addition.. do you have the LED's all facing outwards or did you turn the back around to match the front.

LHS is empty Tomato Trellis

These will be sitting in our Agapanthus garden so there is little point running the strip all the way down to the bottom.

Yes, already with Spirals a 20mm ball on top and powder coated. Unfortunately we don't get a lot of choice here.

I dig it, but I have one question. I was always under the assumption that when actually using these for growing tomatoes the narrow (or what we call the top) goes down, or in the ground. Do tomatoes grow differently down under LOL. I thought that maybe since your "upside down" down there (at least from where I live) your plants grew upside down as well ;P. Seriously, this is cool. Can't wait to see the finished product.

to the best of my knowledge growing things upside down is NOT a Down-Under thing to do.
On the contrary some of your fellow countrymen seem some what confused as to the right direction plants grow. ;)
