Hey, Macrosill - how did you hook the two of them up? Did you have to build a cable? I have the exact same combination, but never got around to connecting the two. It wasn't immediately obvious and I was in a rush, so I put the socket aside.
I will have to find it, but you can make the demo board very cheap, instructions are here somewhere, I will look for them.

So do those cheaper programmers on ebay work? Or should I shell out the money and go with a PicKit 1 or 2 ?
I haven't used either but I think the cheaper ones would work fine. Even if there were limitations you would only be out a few dollars.Originally Posted by ppohlman

I bought this one and it has worked fine programming 3 REN-C's the only limitation is you can not use a USB to serial converter with it.
